Recently, one dog’s story ended on a positive note, following a week of being discovered emaciated and deserted. In Grand Rapids, Michigan, on June 2nd, a dog named Hope was spotted lying on the road by concerned citizens. As she made her way out of the woods, Hope collapsed in the middle of a busy street, too fatigued to complete the journey.
As per a social media post, concerned locals halted traffic and ensured the safety of a malnourished and thin dog by guiding it to the side of the road. They also provided the famished pup with some much-needed nourishment. Upon arrival, the authorities remarked that the dog may not survive. However, a resident named Rachel came forward as the dog’s savior. She took Hope to the Cascade Animal Hospital and pledged to leave no stone unturned in saving her life.
The veterinarians who treated Hope, a dog found abandoned by her owners, were optimistic about her chances of survival. They explained that Hope was likely used for breeding purposes and had given birth to multiple litters before being discarded when she was no longer useful. Despite not having a microchip, the vets estimated that she was around 7 years old. A Facebook group called “Hope for Hope” was created to provide updates on the dog’s condition, which was stable and improving after various tests and treatments. The hospital reported on June 4 that Hope was still weak but making impressive progress and receiving lots of love and attention.
In the following days, Hope made significant progress in her health and emotional state, lifting her spirits. The group’s latest announcement brought a wave of joy as they revealed that Hope was strong enough to bid farewell to the hospital and move into her new abode.
Rachel, the kindhearted neighbor who initially rescued Hope, decided to adopt her. Hope had an amazing start in her new abode as she spent a peaceful night in her cozy bed and acquainted herself with her new furry companions.
