This amazing dog had a tough time as he was left alone as a stray for almost a year. He struggled to find food, and unfortunately, many people ignored his suffering once they saw him up close. They referred to him as “weird” or “terrifying,” and no one was willing to help him. Luckily, some people were able to see past his appearance and appreciate his inner beauty, which is the only thing that truly matters. Skiatook Paws Claws Pet Rescue in Oklahoma fell in love with Phoenix when they met him and learned about his situation through a call for help. Despite his looks, they didn’t hesitate to rescue him and save his life. When Phoenix arrived at the shelter, they discovered that he had previously been someone’s pet, but they had failed to take care of him properly, resulting in him becoming homeless.
Carisa Ducharne, a member of Skiatook Paws Claws, described the poor dog as extremely emaciated with visible rib bones. His eyes were unable to shut due to excessive swelling and inflammation on his face. However, despite his physical condition, Phoenix displayed a friendly demeanor towards humans when he was rescued. The rescue team remains unaware of the dog’s past, but it is evident that his kind nature has not been affected by his previous suffering.
